Junior Embryologist

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine (FIRM) is the region’s largest infertility clinic specializing in fertility services including insemination (Al), in vitro fertilization (IVF), egg and sperm donor programs and bank preservation in Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, Tallahassee, FL and , Thomasville and Valdosta, GA. We are seeking a junior embryologist to join our team.

Responsibilities include:

Ensure proper labeling of all specimens
Set-up patient semen collection rooms
Perform manual semen analysis counts, direct antibody testing, and sperm morphology readings
Process sperm for inseminations, IVF procedures, and cryopreservation
Maintain cryopreservation inventory and liquid nitrogen tanks
Perform and document QC/QA
Run chemistry blood analyzer for female hormone testing
Must be able to work independently as well as a team
Receive/ship cryopreserved gametes and embryos
Witness embryo freezing and biopsy
Data entry to CDC ART reporting website
Perform embryology training

Requirements:

An ideal candidate is able to work in a team and independently and eager to learn and implement new techniques. To be considered for this opportunity you must have:

Minimum of a B.S. and M.S. in biology, chemistry or a related field with 0-2 years of laboratory experience.
Attention to detail, strong communication and organizational skills are also required. Candidates should also be able to multitask and have a collaborative and proactive attitude.
Green card holder or citizenship is required.

Education

Bachelor’s (Preferred)

Experience:

Clinical Laboratory Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
Laboratory Experience: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

Medical Technologist (Preferred)
