GENERAL SUMMARY
The Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine is searching for qualified and compassionate nurses for IVF patients to ensure a smoothly functioning office and good patient relations. Interacts with patients, patient’s families, referring physicians, and third-party carriers with regard to patient related issues. Works with others in a team environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- OR & PACU EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
- Assists patients, patient’s families, referring physicians, and third-party carriers to resolve patient-related issues.
- Coordinates care for IVF patients and maintains patient calendars.
- Oversees patient prescriptions and medications.
- Relays information to patients regarding preparation for, explanations of, and results of laboratory tests and examinations.
- Maintain accurate and timely contact with patients regarding their management including all testing results, embryo updates, number of cryopreserved embryos scheduling of all testing, procedures and post-cycle support.
- Assure continued follow-up with all patients expressing interest in IVF.
- Review all ongoing treatment cycle blood work with physician on a daily basis.
- Coordinate a patient’s fertility treatment cycle, including an up-to-date flow sheet, completion of appropriate pre-cycle testing, daily retrieval of appropriate laboratories, and assuring all necessary patient medications in ADVANCE of a treatment cycle.
- Complete all IVF paperwork for procedure.
- Provide patient education for injection teaching, treatment cycles and procedures.
- Perform procedures, after appropriate training under the supervision of the physician.
- Promptly turn over an examination and procedure room if needed.
- Immediately notify the physician in all cases of emergency.
- Accurately file any paperwork into the patient chart.
- Immediately verify and label all laboratory specimens obtained from a patient.
- Assure all patient questions are answered.
