Our Doctoral-level embryologists and andrologists with Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine are leaders in the complex fields of embryology and andrology. Dr. X. Xiang is responsible for the first baby born in the world to a cancer patient who froze her eggs. Together, this team of experts works closely with our physicians to provide the best care possible for our patients.

X. Xiang is our embryology lab director.  Dr. Xiang holds a PhD in Reproductive Biology from Arizona State University, as well as a Medical Doctorate Degree from China, she is board certified by the American Board of Bioanalyst as a highly complex Lab Director (HCLD).  Dr. Xiang has worked as a lab manager, senior embryologist, and technical supervisor since 2006.  Dr. Xiang’s area of research includes sperm/egg interaction, sperm chemotaxis and embryo development.  Dr. Xiang’s research papers are published in the National Academy of Science and Journal of Developmental Biology.

F. Xue is our Embryology Supervisor. She has a Masters and PhD in Regenerative Biology from the University of Connecticut.  Dr. Xue has extensive experience in all aspects of animal assisted reproduction.  She has a special interest in stem cell research as well as gene specific expression and functional regulation during embryonic pre-implantation development.

M. Goodwin earned her Masters in Animal Science with a concentration in Reproductive Physiology from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Her graduate research focused on oocyte maturation and in vitro production of bovine embryos. Megan has been a clinical Embryologist/Andrologist since 2015.

B. Jordan, MS has recently joined our lab working in the embryology/andrology/Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) departments. She has earned a Bachelors in Forensic Chemistry from Hampton University and a Masters in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Central Florida. Brandi has chemical, blood banking, clinical and microbiology laboratory experience with past research experience involving prostate cancer, Crohn’s disease and early stage drug development assays.

N. Loos has a Bachelors in Biochemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Natalie has previous experience working in undergraduate research in organic chemistry and biochemistry. Before beginning her journey into embryology Natalie worked for the Florida Department of health as a chemist.

E. Patonai, MT, SBB (ASCP), MBA works in our andrology/endocrinology lab in our Daytona Beach location. Elana completed her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, specialist in Blood Banking Certification in Orlando, and Master’s in Business Administration at Nova Southeastern University.

M. GARRETT CLT, AMT works in our andrology/endocrinology lab in our Tallahassee location. Melony received her Associates of Science Degree from Southern Regional Technical College. She completed her Clinical Laboratory Technician Training in , GA.
