Would you recommend seeing a reproductive specialist after two consecutive micarriages in six months? The first was at 11.5 weeks but gestational age was 5 weeks. The second was also at 5 weeks.

Stephanie, with the information that you have included, you are in a great situation for success with IVF. For patients who are under 30 and going on to IVF due to a prior tubal ligation have the highest success rates of all patients. A typical live birth rate in that category with our practice is about 60+%. Most patients in your situation may have enough embryos to freeze, and thus if you factor in the use of those, a cumulative success rate will likely be extremely high. This is compared to the national average of about 50% in that category.

Sincerely, Dr. McCoy

I have found a wealth of information on the website. I have a question concerning obesity and attempting IVF. I have been diagnosed with PCOS and having difficulty losing weight. What restrictions/considerations (i.e. maximum weight) would be taken in consideration prior to attempting IVF?

I had a tubal ligation 6 years ago and now want another baby. I am not interested in attempting a reversal. I am a very healthy 28 year old woman and never had a problem conceiving before the tubal ligation. Of course I'm keeping in mind, that all women are different and there are many factors that come into play, but what are the my chances of IVF working for me? What is your success rate of IVF live births after tubal ligation?

We often do IVF on patients who live out of town, and sometimes out of the country. We can often do an initial phone consultation to discuss options. If going on to IVF, we have you come here at least once before getting started. Depending on where you are located, you may be able to do your monitoring where you are located, then come here for the retrieval. Feel free to contact our office to arrange a phone consultation.

Pregnancy and live birth rates fall significantly after 40-41 years of age. A patient at 42 has about a 3-5% chance of a live birth rate, and at 43, that is about 1-2%. There have been very few live births worldwide from patients using their own eggs at 45 years, and only a couple known instances at age 46. This is all irrespective if FSH levels, as they do not reflect the quality of eggs, which is the primary problem in this age range.

Your facility appears interesting to me. Do you accept insurance BCBS of Georgia. Also, do you have patient financial assistant program? How much time do I need for the whole IVF circle?

Thanks.

IVF can be very complicated and overwhelming, but it is worth every shot taken and dollar spent. We had our miracle baby boy last year, after 6 cycles and three miscarriages!
