The Center for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome focuses on the total health care needs of the patient with polycystic ovarian syndrome.  Polycystic ovarian syndrome is the most common endocrinopathy known.  It is caused by the excessive production of male hormone by the ovaries.  Frequently encountered problems are irregular menstrual cycles, increased dark hair growth, acne, excessive weight gain, or difficulty losing weight.  Individuals with polycystic ovarian syndrome are at increased risk for long term health problems, especially diabetes and heart disease.  The Center for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is a division of the Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine, our downtown clinic focusing primarily on infertility.  The goal at the Center for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is to achieve the highest quality of care at the lowest cost, and to provide this care in the warmest most comfortable office environment possible.
