About the F.I.R.M.

The Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine (F.I.R.M.) was founded in 1991 under the direction of Dr. Kevin Winslow, our Medical Director.  Over the last eighteen years we have had over 8,000 babies born.  We are the largest advanced assisted reproductive medicine program in North Florida and South Georgia.  We do not practice gynecology or obstetrics - our entire focus is advanced infertility care.  Our IVF pregnancy rates have consistently been in the top ten percentile in the nation.  Our costs for all infertility services are significantly less than the national average.  We believe when one considers fresh IVF pregnancy rates, as well as our near identical cryo embryo pregnancy rates, and cost, we truly have one of the most cost efficient IVF programs in the nation.  Dr. Yang, our chief embryologist, is nationally and internationally known for his pioneering work on intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) as well as egg freezing.  The F.I.R.M. has been featured on most of our national news networks, as well as in People, Self, Pink, Child and Conceive magazines.  In 2005 Child magazine recognized the F.I.R.M. in the top ten programs in the nation.  We have always tried to maintain the most personal patient/physician relationship possible.  All patient visits will be with your own Board Certified Reproductive Medicine Subspecialist.  If, for whatever reason, your doctor is not available, you will see one of our associate Board-Certified physicians.  If surgery is required, it will always be done in an accredited hospital for maximum safety.  Often, surgery will be performed by two of our physicians to optimize outcome.  We have a large staff of very experienced IVF nurse coordinators who are subspecialists in different areas of infertility.  Our nurses are both compassionate and compulsive in terms of their care.

The Center for PCOS is a division of the Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine, a first of its kind private practice focusing on the comprehensive health care of the polycystic ovarian syndrome patient not trying to achieve pregnancy.  Our office manager and several members of our staff, including Dr. Duffy and Dr. Freeman, are fluent in Spanish.  Our infertility IVF literature is printed in Spanish.  We have staff who are also fluent in Chinese, Vietnamese, and French
